Mötley Crüe

Frederick Fairgrounds | 7/30/11

At long last I get to see Mötley Crüe live and what happens? The show almost ends before it starts. I'll paint the picture for you. Mötley comes out with guns blazing, opening up with "Wild Side" (my favorite Crüe song), pyro exploding, fans screaming, and Vince Neil owning the stage. The second song "Saints Of Los Angeles" comes to a close and all of a sudden bassist Nikki Sixx dives off the stage onto a fan who's videotaping the show. I'll admit I was a little nervous as to whether the show would continue. It's not uncommon for bands to just walk off stage if they're not happy with something. After a few minutes security pulls Nikki out of the crowd and band members take a moment to collect themselves. They then proceed to blow our minds with thirteen more songs. One of the most insane moments was Tommy Lee's drum solo as his kit started to move around like some ferris wheel. What a day. What a feeling.

Mötley Crüe played this show, called Outlaw Jam 2 with Poison.
