HellYeah
Baltimore Soundstage | 5/2/16

HellYeah have long had one of the most energetic shows I’ve ever seen and last night was no different. A blood drenched Chad (Gray, vocals) and the boys opened up with “Sangre por Sangre (Blood for Blood)” and never looked back.
Playing on a much smaller stage then I’m used to seeing them on didn’t take away from the show. Chad’s screaming vocals have done nothing but get stronger with the guitar playing of Maryland’s own Tom Maxwell always on point and really sharp. Vinnie Paul, being the iconic figure that he is, crushed away on his drums and gave the set a tough and full sound. Guitarist Christian Brady and bassist Kyle Sanders never slack on covering their end and kill.
The songs “Drink, Drank, Drunk” and “War In Me” had the crowd roaring and “Hush” was performed acoustically which allowed for some very loud fan participation with the vocals. The fan-favorite “Hellyeah!” closed out the night. The only negative to the night was it was a pretty light crowd but not dead by any means. It can always be a tough gig on a Monday but HellYeah said, “Screw That!” and still delivered. Many members of the band hung around to spend time with the fans that could not take place in the meet and greet, which is a nice and refreshing thing to see that not all bands are all about the money.
